PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program is operated by Dymocks Franchise Systems (NSW) Pty Limited ACN 002 989 862 (Dymocks). Each member of the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program is bound by these Terms and Conditions.
JOINING THE PROGRAM
1. Each application for membership of the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program is subject to acceptance by Dymocks in its absolute discretion.
2. Only individuals can apply for Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program membership. Corporations, partnerships, trusts and other entities are not eligible to participate in the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program.
3. Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program membership is only activated by valid details registration accepted through Dymocks stores or online (dymocks.com.au).
4. A Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program member may only hold one Booklover account. Booklover membership and accounts cannot be held jointly.
TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
5. The Booklover Program has Classic and Gold tiers of membership for members. Each tier of membership attracts different entitlements. New members start as Classic members, unless determined otherwise at Dymocks’ discretion.
6. To advance from Classic membership to Gold membership, a member must spend $500 at a participating Dymocks store or online within a consecutive 365-day period. To retain the Gold tier, members must spend $500 at a participating Dymocks store or online in every subsequent 365-day period. If a member in the Gold tier does not achieve the spending limit in any 365-day period, their account will automatically change to Classic and will earn points in accordance with the Classic tier.
7. Dymocks reserves the right to change the tiers of membership, the qualifications for joining or remaining in a tier and the membership entitlements for each tier, from time to time.
EARNING POINTS
8. For Classic membership, five points will be earned for every AUD $1.00 dollar spent at a participating Dymocks store or online on eligible purchases. Five points equal AUD $0.05 cents and will be communicated in a combination of points and redeemable monetary value; or points only; or redeemable monetary value only. Dymocks may also offer bonus points from time to time on terms set by Dymocks in its absolute discretion.
9. For Gold membership, seven points will be earned for every AUD $1.00 dollar spent at a participating Dymocks store or online on eligible purchases. Seven points equal AUD $0.07 cents and will be communicated in a combination of points and redeemable monetary value; or points only or redeemable monetary value only. Dymocks may also offer bonus points from time to time on terms set by Dymocks in its absolute discretion.
10. Points are earned on the final price paid after all discounts including those from the redemption of points have been deducted. Points are not earned on selected products including the purchase of a Dymocks gift card, eBooks, delivery charges for a purchase at www.dymocks.com.au, donations, gift wrap, a purchase or renewal of a Booklover Plus or Dymocks Literary Events Club subscription, iTunes Gift Card, Audible Books, or a purchase at an event that is hosted outside of a Dymocks store. However, points may be earned when using Dymocks gift cards for payment of eligible purchases.
11. Points will be allocated to a Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program member account for in-store purchases immediately after each eligible purchase or online when the sale is completed and payment is received, subject to specific promotion terms and system availability.
12. A Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program member account must be used at the time of sale for points to be earned. This can occur through staff looking up a member in the system, presentation of a Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program card or an electronic card, or the member entering appropriate log-in information online. An electronic card includes a card or service on a mobile phone or wearable device that allows users to store or make transactions such as Apple Pay (provided by Apple Inc) or Google Wallet (a trademark of Google LLC). In addition to paragraph 10, points will only be awarded after a sale is completed and upon successful attribution of the sale to a Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program member account.
13. Points are personal and cannot be transferred.
14. Points balances and other details can, subject to system availability, be checked online (www.dymocks.com.au) when a member logs into their account.
15. Points will expire and accounts will close 18 months after the last date of a member having an activity against the account. Activity includes:
a. made making a purchase at a Dymocks store or online ;
or b. earning or redeeming points; or
c. qualifying or requalifying for Gold membership; or
d. purchasing or renewing a Booklover Plus subscription. The earning or expiration of bonus points as referred to in paragraph 8 and 9 is excluded and does not extend the member account expiration date. Dymocks will endeavour to advise members via email at least 14 days prior to the date that the points on their account expire provided Dymocks has a valid email address or mobile phone number and members have opted in to receive communications from Dymocks.
16. Any member who has a claim for points in respect of retrospective transactions should submit their claim within 30 days of the purchase date.
REDEMPTION OF POINTS
17. Points can only be redeemed for goods and services sold at participating Dymocks stores in Australia or online at www.dymocks.com.au.
18. Points are redeemable by attributing the sale against an active Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program account at any participating Dymocks store or online. This is done by presenting a Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program card, or the account number, email address, or mobile number, being identified in the Booklover Rewards database by store staff or by completing a purchase online where the Booklover Rewards account is linked to the customer login and sale.
19. Booklover Points cannot be redeemed on selected products or services including the purchase of a Dymocks gift card, eBook, or a subscription to Booklover Plus or the Dymocks Literary Events Club, or a purchase at an event that is hosted outside of a Dymocks store.
20. For Classic and Gold membership, the minimum redemption is 500 Booklover Points ($5) in any one transaction.
21. Dymocks will endeavour to provide at least 60 days’ notice of any increase to the minimum redemption amount.
22. No change will be given for purchases valued at less than the face value of the Points that a member redeems.
23. Points cannot be redeemed for cash.
24. Refunds will only be provided for goods and services purchased using a Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program account in accordance with Dymocks refunds and returns policy. In the event of a refund, any Booklover Points earned for the original purchase will be deducted from the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program account, and if purchased using redeemed Booklover Points in partial or full payment, Booklover Points will not be refunded.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
25. Your membership details are Personal Information for the purpose of the Privacy Act and will be dealt with in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the Dymocks Privacy Policy, a copy of which can be accessed at www.dymocks.com.au/faq/privacy-security.
26. Upon joining, Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program members are opted-in to receive regular Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program communications. Members may opt-out of communications through their online account or through marketing emails. Despite a member’s preferences, Dymocks will periodically send information to a member about their account and preferences.
27. Your Dymocks Online password must not be disclosed to any other person.
PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP
28. Dymocks reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program at any time by providing not less than 60 days' notice to members. If the program is terminated, then all rights in accrued points cease.
29. Membership in the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program may be terminated or suspended immediately for investigation by Dymocks in its absolute discretion if Dymocks has reasonable grounds to suspect that a Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program member has shop-lifted or defrauded Dymocks or the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program in any way.
30. Dymocks in its absolute discretion may terminate without notice or suspend for further investigation any membership of the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program without notice, if the relevant member:
a. fails to comply with these membership Terms and Conditions;
b. engages in misleading or deceptive conduct in connection with the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program;
c. the member does not use his or her account for a period of 18 months;
d. dies or becomes bankrupt.
31. A member may terminate his or her membership in the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program at any time by giving written notice to Dymocks.
GENERAL
32. All Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program cards remain the property of Dymocks.
33. Dymocks may appoint its franchisees of any participating Dymocks store to exercise any discretion conferred on Dymocks under these Terms and Conditions.
34. Dymocks is not responsible for stolen or lost cards or for accounts which have been improperly accessed or used by third parties either through your computer equipment or through use of your online password.
35. To the extent permitted by law, any liability that Dymocks may have to a member relating in any way to the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program whether for negligence, breach of contract or otherwise is limited to:
- in the case of any claim relating to points, to crediting the relevant number of points to the member's account; and
- in any other case, to a maximum of $0.01 for each point in the member's account at the time that the liability arose.
All conditions and warranties, whether express or implied and whether arising under statute or otherwise, are expressly excluded to the full extent permitted by law.
36. Dymocks may make any changes at any time in its absolute discretion, to these Terms and Conditions. Dymocks will endeavour to provide at least 60 days' notice of any such changes.
37. Where Dymocks is required to give notice under these Terms and Conditions, notice may be given by either publishing a notice on the Dymocks website located at www.dymocks.com.au and/or by email to the members of the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program.
DYMOCKS SMS ALERTS MOBILE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
WHAT ARE DYMOCKS SMS ALERTS?
1. Dymocks SMS Alerts are SMS messages that are sent to opted in users that contain promotional content for Dymocks customers.
HOW DO OPT IN FOR DYMOCKS SMS ALERTS?
2. You will be opted in to receive Dymocks SMS Alerts when you join the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program and provide your mobile number. Dymocks SMS Alerts are not mobile spam. The service is a recurring message program. By opting-into the Dymocks Booklover Rewards Program you agree to receive promotional content from Dymocks to your nominated mobile telephone number.
IS IT FREE?
3. Although all Dymocks SMS Alerts are complimentary and free, Dymocks is not responsible for any charges from a person’s service or carrier provider that may result from Dymocks providing this service. Message & Data Rates may apply. Depending on your text plan, you may be charged by your service or carrier provider. It is the user’s responsibility to check with their individual service or carrier provider, as other charges may apply. Dymocks assumes no responsibility for charges incurred by you for signing up to Dymocks SMS Alerts. Any fees that you incur will be billed on your individual bill with your service or carrier provider.
USAGE
4. SMS messages are distributed via third party mobile network providers and, as a result, Dymocks cannot control certain factors relating to message delivery. Depending on the recipient’s mobile provider service, it may not be possible to transmit the SMS message to the recipient successfully. Dymocks does not claim or guarantee availability or performance of this service, including any liability for transmission delays or message failures.
CHANGE OF MOBILE PHONE NUMBER
5. If you choose to change your mobile phone number, you will need to update your information in store or by logging into your account online.
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO RECEIVE ANY MORE SERVICE MESSAGES?
6. You can opt-out of Booklover SMS messages by following the opt-out link in Dymocks SMS messages or through your online account.
WHAT IF I WANT TO OPT BACK IN?
7. You can start receiving Dymocks SMS Alerts messages again by logging into your account online and selecting the option to receive Booklover communications through SMS.
WHAT IF I WANT MORE INFORMATION?

PRIVACY POLICY
19. Dymocks will use your mobile telephone number and any other personal identifying information provided by you as part of the opt-in process solely for the purpose of operating the Dymocks SMS Alerts service and providing promotional content to you. All personal information provided by you to Dymocks is held in accordance with Dymocks’ Privacy Policy. You can review our privacy policy a copy of which can be accessed at www.dymocks.com.au/faq/privacy-security. The Privacy Policy details how you can have your personal information altered or removed from Dymocks systems.

BOOKLOVER PLUS
Additional benefits may be accrued by a member registering in the optional Booklover Plus subscription program (Booklover Plus). Benefits, terms of entry and acceptance are set by Dymocks in its absolute discretion.
Membership in Plus is valid for 365 days from date of registration. At the end of the first 365-day period, the subscription can be renewed for additional successive 1-year terms at the member’s option when a renewal is offered by Dymocks.
For some benefits, Gold members with a Booklover Plus subscription receive additional rewards to those received by Classic members. If during the subscription term the account is Classic tier (e.g. if an account does not requalify for Gold), Classic Booklover Plus subscription benefits will apply while the account is at Classic.
For every AUD $1.00 spent at a participating Dymocks store or online on eligible purchases, Booklover Plus members earn points according to their membership tier:
- Classic members enrolled in Booklover Plus earn seven (7) points which equals AUD $0.07 cents;
- Gold members enrolled in Booklover Plus earn ten (10) points which equal $0.10 cents.
Any points earnt will be communicated in points and redeemable monetary value. Dymocks may also offer bonus points from time to time on terms set by Dymocks in its absolute discretion. The earning or expiration of bonus points does not extend the member account expiration date as referred to in paragraph 15.
Sign-Up Bonus: Upon registration of Booklover Plus, members receive a sign-up bonus. It may take up to 5 business days for the sign-up bonus to be deposited into the member’s account. The bonus may not be applied to the Booklover Plus registration transaction. Points earnt from Booklover Plus sign-up bonus will expire 90 days from the date that the bonus points are posted in the member’s account. The initial bonus earnt at registration may only be earned once during the life of a Booklover account. The bonus amount and delivery method are subject to change at Dymocks’ discretion.
Tote Bag: Upon registration of Booklover Plus, members may be offered a tote bag. The bag offered will be at Dymocks’ discretion. Tote bag must be chosen at registration and cannot be fulfilled after the registration transaction.
Birthday / Anniversary Award: If, while enrolled in Booklover Plus, the member’s account is eligible for a Birthday or Anniversary award, the bonus will be awarded at the Booklover Plus Birthday or Anniversary bonus amount. The Booklover Plus bonus replaces, and is not in addition, to the standard bonus awarded at Classic or Gold tiers without Booklover Plus. The Booklover Plus bonus amount will be effective with the first Birthday or Anniversary bonus cycle after the Booklover Plus registration date. If a member has an unexpired Birthday or Anniversary bonus in their account at time of Booklover Plus enrolment, the bonus will remain at the awarded amount and the Booklover Plus benefit will be effective with the next annual cycle. All other terms of the standard Birthday or Anniversary bonus promotion apply, including the expiration policy.
Any joining or renewal fees paid to participate in Booklover Plus may be refunded to the customer for a period up to 60 days.
